What does your company do that a realtor will not or cannot do for me?

A lot.  A realtor represents the landlord and may not give the most impartial advice. A Going-there consultant can give objective advice on lease negotiation, rental terms and levels, and how to deal with a realtor to ensure the best deal.  The consultant can also advise on how to navigate through local bureaucratic hurdles, registrations or driving licence exchange, sharing the sort of ‘from direct experience’ insights that you cannot get from reading a book or searching the web.

Why do you charge a fee for your services and the realtor does not, in most cases?

Realtor services are not free – you pay indirectly for them through higher rents than the landlord would get by not using a realtor. By using your own personal advisor with intimate knowledge of the environment, you may save money during rent negotiations.

Can your Consultant cover all areas of a location, or just certain neighborhoods?

The Destination Consultant generally covers all areas and aspects of relocation to the environment, but will also have specialist knowledge of some neighborhoods.

Where does your consultant pull information for me to review?  Zillow, Google, etc?

Area information is researched directly on the ground by the consultant, who also draws upon their own experience of relocation to the city and living there for many years.  Information comes from a wide variety of sources, including face-to-face ones, and is not simply pulled from potentially unreliable internet sources.

How and when do I pay you or does my RMC pay you directly?

Either.  You can subscribe directly to GT Express and pay by credit card.  Or there may be a pre-existing arrangement with your RMC for payment to be directed through them.

What other services can you help me with besides Home Search?

Anything to do with practical aspects of living in the city – registrations, transport and commuting challenges, local educational resources, orientation and settling in, how healthcare works, where to meet people, where to shop for familiar products, money saving tricks, and more.

How and when do I pay you or does my RMC/employer pay you directly?

GT Express! is normally paid in advance either by you or by your RMC/employer.  If your employer pays, they will send us an authorisation with your contact details.  If you choose to pay, you can do so online by credit card or by emailing us and including your credit card details.
